I have fine and/or weak hair. Will extensions damage it further?

All hair-types can suffer damage to the scalp if the extensions are incorrectly fitted or maintained. Some attachment methods produce greater stress on the hair and scalp.

We customise all our wefts’ weight and thickness to suit your hair type. We also have hair-growth and hair-strengthening programs available. We only use the micro-bead weft-method as it is the proven technique to minimise hair and scalp stress. We do not use glues, resins or tape. We tailor your bead-count and distribution to suit your specific requirements.

Are hair extensions suitable for me?

Hair extensions are perfect for most people. However, there could be factors such as unsuitable current hair condition, hair loss, or hair damage that could prevent extensions from being an option. Should these conditions apply to you, you should have a professional assessment of your hair replacement options before installing either hair extensions or wefts.

I have extensions and am considering re-installation from a budget salon. Are there any risks?

Please be advised that cheap salons may offer reinstallations at a lower cost but they will be using less beads and may damage your hair or wefts because of inferior training. They will also often require more frequent visits. Sometimes inferior or inexperienced practitioners can drop the beads too low so they grow out faster, angle beads so they dig into the head causing pain and headaches, break weft spines, cut handmade wefts, damage fine hair, create bald spots, damage hair follicles, matt or dread natural hair around the wefts.
Inexperienced colourists can overprocess weft hair and cutters can cut hair incorrectly causing steps and cut hair too short. Blow drying in blowout bars or salons: Sometimes use cheap products at the basin which dehydrate and strip hair of condition and shine. This makes the hair brittle leading to snapping (shortens life of hair).

Can I cut my extensions with my own hair?

It is important to employ a specialist who is trained to cut and colour extensions. They require special treatment and techniques that general hairdressers are not trained in.
For example:
Cut – Extensions are cut differently to normal hair. General hairdressers are trained to cut hair that is evenly weighted and distributed. Whereas hair extensions require different cutting techniques. Some of the following problems can arise if the cutter is not an extension specialist – general hairdressers often cut hair too short so that you can get steps in your hair or hair may end up looking like a wig. Also if the natural hair has grown out and the weft has dropped an uneven line can occur. For many reasons it is better to have your cut and colour done by the extensionist who installed your hair and who understands your scalp and hair growth patterns. This can lead to a client having to live with the mistake or new hair may be required.too negative
Colour – Extensions have special colour requirements. Often general hairdressers can burn the extension hair because they are not aware of the sensitivities of the hair to particular kinds of colour.
Styling – There are also special requirements and “No No’s” when it comes to styling extension hair. Without this knowledge hair can be damaged or burned. Correct products need to be assigned to particular hair extension types.

Are Wefts better than Singles?

Singles look more stringy and often fall out or can be pulled out with brushing.
Wefts are softer looking and the weight is better distributed through the layering/weaving process which is safer for your hair. They blend more naturally with your own hair and are better disguised – like a thin veil through the hair. They are also more secure.

Do you use Glues or Resins?

No. Honeycombe Hair Extensions does not recommend any use of glues, resins or tape to secure any form of hair extension. We use a special Honeycombe Beading technique, part of our secret process that enables a more secure, comfortable, flat and natural looking finish.

How long does the installation process take?

This depends on the client’s individual requirements, e.g. number of wefts, colour requirements, styling needs. However, with hair in good condition, the installation of 2 or 2.5 wefts, without colour, would take approximately one hour.

How much does it cost?

Virgin Russian hair is the finest quality hair in the world and due to high demand and scarcity it commands a higher retail price. However, the benefits of investing in this hair far outway the cost in the long run. Honeycombe Hair Extensions last longer than inferior hair extensions. Apart from their finer quality, they are softer, silkier, more natural, lighter and more comfortable to wear because of the superior workmanship and extra time that goes into crafting and installing them. 50% deposit is required to place order of hair wefts.
